future world: where art meets science

Hello! Back after a long while SIGH was busy these past few weeks + lazy to blog (next blog post will be about AV camp when I find the motivation again) but this place has been pretty silent for 3 months so here goes

Met up with Lee Poop and Yengho yesterday to visit ArtScience Museum's new (? ok not really it has been there for quite some time) exhibit - Future World: Where Art meets Science in collaboration with teamLab! Everything there is super eye-catching and impressive (especially the Crystal World exhibit !!! fav)

Nature Exhibit
Butterflies!
Ok cool thing I read online: the flowers change according to the seasons so no 2 visits will be the same

Waves
This piece is called the 100 Years Sea Animation Diorama showing the rising of sea levels, with 100 years condensed into a 10 minute animation (reminds me a little of Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa!)

Town Exhibit
Kids again !!!
I think we were the oldest people there omg

Building blocks

Actually there's more to the town area than this; you can draw buildings and vehicles, then scan your drawings and they'll appear animated on the big screen! We didn't do this part sighs

Park Exhibit
Universe of Water Particles
I really like the mixed realism and artificiality of the waterfall (???) like it looks realistic and magical at the same time

Light Ball Orchestra

Space Exhibit
(fav !!!)
Crystal Universe
Definitely my favourite display in the whole Future World exhibition, and you can interact with it by sending different stars/formations/galaxies and see the display light up differently every time you send a different star. This display gives off lots of Interstellar and Christopher Nolan vibes - standing in the display itself, it really does feel like one is among the stars, walking through the cosmos :") And you'll realise how small you are in the greater scheme of things

I guess they really saved the best for last ??? The Space Exhibit was the end of the Future World exhibition and we didn't buy tickets for any other exhibits so we had lunch at Marina Bay Sands (at the food court of course because the other choices are so!!! expensive!!!) Then we followed Yvette to Bugis (I don't know why either), walked a little at Bugis Street, realised Taobao (aka internet shopping) had better deals and left LOL

Highly recommend you to visit the Future World exhibition - ticket prices are honestly very affordable ($11 for students!) and worth it so do give it a try! Also, note that Future World is a permanent exhibition (the website says it'll be here for at least another 3 years) so you've got plenty of time to visit it
Thank you Lee Poop and Yengz for this adventure! (and the painful reminder that school is starting in a day SIGHS) Need to 加 lots of 油 for the upcoming term !!! So many projects but I hope we'll pull through - so not ready for school to begin toot
Hope you guys enjoyed this post (and the gifs! even though they are so not hq woohoo I thought it might be more interesting to present the exhibits in gifs because they are interactive and constantly changing) See you in the next post - possibly in 2364723648 years time as I get lost in piles of homework HAHAHAHA
