coney island x punggol waterway

Visited Coney Island with Kaiyen today !!! We actually intended to walk along Punggol Waterway Park but it was so deserted and quiet (and boring) so we decided to give Coney Island a visit! It was super fun and we got to visit the different parts of the island pretty quickly because we managed to rent bikes (student price - $8 for first 2 hours which is not bad hurhur)

We found a lalang field and we stayed there for like 1.5 hours because the whole setting was very nice!!
(this is even more worth it than the other field at Punggol Waterway)
(LOL we placed the camera on the tree bark while it took like 374923478 shots of us)

I like this picture so much !!! (although it isn't exactly in focus)
Goddess Kaiyen!!
(this was supposed to be a timer of both of us ?? but I forgot it was on timer mode so HAHAHA)

Us @ each other 24/7
(barmos pls kaiyen y u sit liek dis)

And here comes my favourite part - Danbo pictures !!!
(this is my favourite so I'm going to put it out here first hurhur)

Presenting to you the Danbo-balancing master -

Mandatory shots with/of our bikes -
(how does amanda look good in every photo ??? my position is so awkward HAHA)

lol ok back to the star of the day aka Danbo

... And then we cycled back because we were running out of time + it was raining.
(The rain made everything more memorable haha)

How to get to Coney Island
Take Bus 84 from Punggol Bus Interchange
5 Stops - You can get off once you're see Punggol Beach and the bus makes a U-turn
Opening hours: 7am - 7pm
(Entrance from Punggol Promenade or Pasir Ris park)
Photos on Coney Island taken with 50mm F/1.8 prime lens ...which aren't mine (no I didn't steal it)

Coney Island is 100% worth visiting and the pictures that come out of the whole trip are super magical and you can't tell it's Singapore at all HAHA (which is the whole point). Moreover, 2 hours there wasn't enough (we explored half the island I think ?? I guess we'll be visiting again sometime soon hurhur excites). Coney Island isn't that big really (we spent too much time at the lalang field) hence it is quite unlikely you'll get lost. We were kind of worried we wouldn't get out of there in time because our navigation skills are like no but there are signs everywhere so it's ok!! If you're planning on visiting, renting a bike is definitely a good idea as it makes going to and fro so much easier, especially when you're looking for good locations to shoot.
And an important thing to bring is mosquito and sandfly repellent (we didn't get attacked by sandflies because it was kind of drizzly and rainy today) but the fields have tons of mosquitoes so do come prepared)

Next, we visited Punggol Waterway (the one with the famous red bridge). We actually wanted to take photos at the lalang field but it was muddy after the rain so yep (also I might have accidentally killed a snail) BUT WE SPOTTED AN OTTER Amanda and I hoped a family of them would pop out but nope THIS WAS GOOD ENOUGH I don't think I'm gonna see another otter out of the zoo again
I guess we'll never know how one manages to look adorable while viciously tearing away at a bloody dead (headless) fish.
(Taken with 70-300mm telephoto lens because I didn't want to fall into the water LOL)

Sunset from the bridge was a pretty sight - although it wasn't the brightest of sunsets but it was a nice way to end the day.
Amanda being the ball of sunshine that she is

Sun goddess for a day HAHA

The waters were so calm that our photos looked like long exposure shots

How to get there
Take Punggol LRT to Riviera Station and walk until you see the waterway.
(You should be able to see the red bridge :D)

And that concludes our day spent at Coney Island and Punggol Waterway!
Thank you Amanda for sharing this gr10 day with me :-) I honestly expected it to be boring (although at the same time I was excited for it) but I'm glad we chose to visit Coney Island! The pictures are very very worth it hurhur let's visit again sometime soon since we only explored part of the island :-) Also, thank you for holding the umbrella for me like in some Chinese movie HAHAHA we are damn noob. Looking forward to many more adventures with you!! Lava you x1000
